Plex Media Server Settings

To prevent Google API bans, you need to make the following changes in your Plex Media Server settings.

Settings > Library
Un-check(Turn off): Scan my library automatically
Check(Turn on): Run a partial scan when changes are detected
Check(Turn on): Scan my library periodically
Set Library scan interval to every 12 hours
Check(Turn on): Empty trash automatically after every scan
Change: Generate video preview thumbnails to never
Change: Generate intro video markers to never
Change: Generate chapter thumbnails to never
Change: Analyze audio tracks for loudness to never

In regards to “Empty trash automatically after every scan” this will delete old files automatically. So if a media file gets upgrade it will get deleted and wont show as a duplicate in your Library. However if you mount dies for whatever reason and a scan happens it will delete everything in your Library. I would advice manually “Empty Trash” by clicking the 3 dots in the sidebar where you Libraries are listed every now and then. Media files on the Team Drive will get upgraded/renamed/moved from time to time.

Settings > Scheduled Tasks
Un-check(Turn off): Upgrade media analysis during maintenance
Un-check(Turn off): Perform extensive media analysis during maintenance
